The Opportunity | Electronics Environmental Lab Technician

Under general supervision, the Electronics Environmental Lab Technician performs moderately complex chemical, electronic, mechanical or physical testing and/or analysis of materials or finished products. Examples of the nature of testing include (but are not limited to) destructive physical analysis, corrosion assessments, and equipment calibration. Records results and reports findings to production, quality control, and other departments as appropriate.

Major Accountabilities /Deliverables

  • Performs a variety of tests utilizing specialized equipment.

  • Writes detailed analysis reports as required by the Company and any relevant regulatory agency. Maintains small databases for the control of work and records retention. Reports findings per established procedure.

  • May be responsible for the production and maintenance of auditable records for all testing performed.

  • May assist with drafting procedures or purchasing test materials and equipment

  • Review qualification test plans.

  • Review environmental specifications per requirements.

  • Ability to read Cad drawings.

  • Assist in the development of mechanical fixtures.

  • Understanding of electrical and mechanical principles.

  • Create test reports based on environmental test results.

  • Ability to take ownership of a project with minimal supervision.

  • Ability to multitask with multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and able to work in a team environment with a diverse group of development engineers, test engineers, engineering technicians and manufacturing technicians.


  • 2-3 years of experience in a similar role

  • Understanding of basic test equipment (Power supplies, multimeters etc.)

  • Basic understanding of Vibration, Humidity, Altitude, Temperature tests and Thermal Vacuum testing.

  • Understanding of accelerometers and thermal couples.

  • Understanding of programming environmental chambers and vibration setup.

  • Knowledge of data loggers.

  • Proficient in Microsoft WORD, EXCEL, VISIO

  • High School or Equivalent required. Technical/Trade School Preferred
