Job Description: Urgently hiring Position Title: Field Technician
Reports to: General Management & Dispatch
1. Summary of Duties:
The Service Technicians report to the General Manager, and is responsible for the assistance, management, productivity, and profitability of the Service Team which includes:
o Taking field service and maintenance calls independently when needed
o Diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving issues with both indoor and outdoor AC and heat pump units
o Resolving customer complaints in a timely, efficient and cost-effective manner, projecting a professional and customer-friendly attitude.
o Working with part suppliers on issues pertaining to parts performance, reliability, pricing and availability.
o Managing equipment, special tools, vehicles and parts needed for the Department.
o Maintaining records by writing accurate, concise, and legible invoices
o Implementing quality control procedures with the Service Team in the job field.
o Assuming responsibility for the applicable sections of the strategic business plan of Air Systems. The Service Team consists of a small team of hardworking field technicians.
o Initiative, decisiveness, tact, integrity, judgment, leadership skills, and technical knowledge are essential to achieving productivity goals of the department.
o Job-related contact can occur with all demographic groups, the majority of which will be daily contacts with Air Systems employees and customers.
o Job stress will range from moderate to extreme with an average day being moderately stressful. Other representative duties include:
o Technically assisting, coordinating, monitoring, and following up on all aspects of the Service Department Team.
o Promote and ensure the Air Systems guarantee of customer satisfaction.
o Training designated employees in fulfilling technical service and productivity goals.
Scheduling and coordinating jobs as needed with Dispatch, and making judgments based on job complexity and Service Team employee capability. Providing annual performance appraisals for all Service Department employees with The General Manager. o Working with the General Managers to meet the standards for business goals, mission and vision.
2. Job Qualifications:
o 1-5 years of combined practical and academic experience in the full range of HVAC/R sub-fields, including the experience to analyze a typical field situation and provide a timely, correct solution, with at least one year of it in a supervisory capacity.
o Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to work with all personnel levels, customers and suppliers.
o Possess the physical ability, initiative and knowledge to visit technicians and customers on job-sites.
o Be able to comprehend and implement applicable federal, state and local government laws, rules and regulations, as well as business policy and philosophy.
o Possess current Texas drivers license and the ability to drive all types of vehicles in the corporate fleet within one month of initial employment. Incumbent must be insurable by current Air Systems insurance carrier.
o Excellent leadership and supervisory skills to motivate his/her employees to higher achievements and to keep the departmental morale high.
