Job Description:
Cheam View Veterinary Hospital Ltd. Located at #1-8337 Young Road Chilliwack BC V2P 4N8 is looking for one permanent, full-time Veterinary Technician to join their team as soon as possible.
Description:
Position: Veterinary Technician
Position Available: 1
Wage: $21.00 per hour
Duration: Full time & 40 hours per week
Anticipated start date: As soon as possible
Work Location: #1-8337 Young Road Chilliwack BC V2P 4N8
Job Duties:
• Handle, restrain and care for animals undergoing treatment and surgery
• Assist veterinarian before, during and after surgery
• Prepare and administer medications and vaccines under direction of veterinarian
• Administer treatments as prescribed by veterinarian
• Conduct specialized procedures on animals such as animal identification and hoof trimming
• Conduct and assist in laboratory research
• Produce diagnostic radiographs, collect samples, and perform other laboratory tests,
• Veterinary office management
• Provide nursing care and rehabilitation therapy for animals
• Perform routine animal dental procedures and assist veterinarians with animal dentistry
• Provide wound and bandage care
Job Requirements:
Job Requirements:
Education: Completion of a two- or three-year animal health/veterinary technology college program is required.
Experience: 2-3 years of experience is required.
Language: English
Personal Suitability: Organized, Judgement, Excellent oral communication, Effective interpersonal skills, Accurate, Team player
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, Repetitive tasks, Attention to detail, Hand-eye co-ordination
Work Setting: Veterinary clinic
