Job Description:


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS





  • Advises employees on care and preservation of items received, stored, and shipped; methods and use of equipment in handling, storing, maintaining, and shipping stock; and related problems.

  • Schedules daily work for all warehouse operation activities.

  • Walks through the warehouse to verify status and visually checks for racking and equipment damage at the beginning and end of work day.

  • Before the start of work, supervisor will review with warehouse personnel the previous day's results (safety, quality, productivity) give direction regarding the current day goals and priorities

  • Communicates changes to warehouse personnel regarding the days' activities and priority items.

  • Performs warehouse person duties when necessary to achieve department goals.

  • Completes end of day reports as directed by the Inventory Control/Materials Manager.

  • Leads warehouse staff in ensuring product is correctly pulled and delivered to production.

  • Observes employees to monitor compliance with established policies, procedures, and time commitments.

  • Provides timely feedback regarding observations of policy and/or procedure violations.

  • Provides input regarding observations of employee productivity.

  • Traces history of items to determine reasons for discrepancies between inventory and stock control records and recommends remedial actions to resolve discrepancies.

  • Ensures finished goods product returns are processed according to the process and in a timely manner.

  • Measures and evaluates direct reporting employee performance according to company standards for quality and productivity. Provides accurate, meaningful and timely reviews of all direct reports.

  • Determines work procedures and expedites workflow.

  • Implements and coordinates continuous improvement program as directed

  • Studies and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency of warehouse personnel.

  • Maintains harmony among employees and works to resolve employee grievances.

  • Prepares composite reports from individual reports of warehouse personnel.

  • Adjusts errors and implements corrective actions for complaints.

  • Assists in developing and implementing new or improved procedures.

  • Provides on the job training for new and existing warehouse personnel

  • Responsible for compliance with Safety rules, practices/procedures and providing Safety training to warehouse personnel.

  • Provides accurate and complete accident / incident reports when required.

  • Provides daily input including associate accountability for housekeeping program.

  • Maintain reliable and consistent attendance, including being punctual, and dependable in order to meet the needs of the department and the organization.

  • Execute each essential duty satisfactorily in order to perform job successfully.

  • Follows all safety procedures required in work area, wears PPE as needed, attends all safety meetings, and reports safety issues regarding equipment or unsafe/hazardous conditions.

  • Performs effectively as a team member, able to work well with others, open to receive and give feedback, and treats everyone with respect.

  • Takes ownership of own work and behavior, accepts accountability for own actions, encourages solutions, and communicates status of work/projects.

  • Follow all department quality standards/criteria. Raise concerns and issues to immediate manager.

  • Must be able to work overtime as needed, remain flexible and open to possible schedule changes in order to meet business needs.





Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience; and at least 2 years of supervisory experience.

  • Working knowledge of an ERP system, I.E. Prism, Intermec, and/or AS400 system.

  • Ability to communicate well in English, both verbally and in writing. Complete reports, comprehend instructions, and communicate effectively via emails.Read, write and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English.

  • Ability to count in all units of measure using whole numbers.

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to interpret bar graphs.

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple instructions. Ability to deal with complex situations such as scheduling work with several variables.
