Job Description:

Position summary:
Under general supervision, the HVAC Technician II will be responsible for daily inspections of temperature and humidity controls in microwave buildings, office locations, data centers, and warehouses. They will make adjustments to ensure adequate air flow, replace filters, belts, adjust dampers and operate instruments for balancing air quantity, and replace valves.

Qualifications required:
• Valid Texas Driver License
• High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum of five (5) years employment experience as a HVAC technician (installation, diagnosis and maintenance)
• Texas Air Conditioning License (Class B) TACLB
• EPA 608 Type II and Type III

Qualifications desired:
• Texas Air Conditioning License (Class A) TACLA
• EPA 608 Universal Certification
• Associate’s degree from a technical or vocational school
• North American Technician Excellence (NATE) certification service certification

Essential functions and responsibilities:
• Maintains HVAC systems by servicing and overhauling pneumatic controls, steam valves and other associated equipment
• Maintain computer room air conditioning (CRAC) units
• Repairs bearings and shafts, removes defective equipment, installs and tests new equipment
• Investigates complaints i.e. climate control, and makes necessary adjustments and/or repairs including the removal and replacement of defective controls and other associated equipment
• Completes work orders (Maximo) requests
• Coordinates and performs troubleshooting, preventative maintenance (PM’s), repairs, and rounds on all related equipment
• Flexibility in performing changing assignments; ability to work off shift and after hours as needed and be on call 24/7
• Ability to interpret blueprints and drawings; perform required shop mathematics
• Advise the Facilities Supervisor and management on budget preparation, program changes, and short/long range planning
• Perform other assigned duties

Nonessential functions, skills and experience:
• Coordinate with the IT and SCADA departments to support integrated HVAC systems controls and monitoring
•Support EH&S initiatives and requests
• Skilled in Word, Excel and Outlook with proven ability to learn new applications quickly
• Perform data entry into Maximo
• Oversee contractors
