Job Description:
Responsible for establishing sales targets to meet company objectives. Responsible for developing strategic sales plans based on company goals that will promote sales growth, cust satisfaction for the org. Directing implementation, execution of sales policies, practices. Communicates org sales goals, objectives, info. Ensures comms are coordinated, supports sales plan objectives, meets org expend reqs. Defines, leads sales action plans to achieve sust YOY sales growth. Coord global supt func for Nidec America Corporationís (NCAM) staff. Devs strategies, policies for alignment w/Nidecís global objectives and rpts analytics to sr mgmt. Devs, est policies & guidelines to max growth-oriented cust accts, sales, profitability. Draws adequate product, tech support from Japan HQ to support business growth in North Amer while aligning target end-mkts which NCAM pursues to those of Japan R&D for optimal use of resources on both ends. Utlz experience, knowledge of small precision mtrs to recmd and/or implement policies relating new product devment, special product mkting objectives, product pricing, & sales training. Monitors overall sales activities within home & regional offices; direct comms with Reg Mgrs and Sales Reps. Tracks North Amer domestic sales, rpts the sales results to Nidec mgmt. Orchestrates global support to dev new business w/custs, working very closely w/Nidec China and Japan HQ sr mgmt. Mng Japanese expatriates goal setting and bi-annual appraisals. Preps and/or analyses accurate Sales, Personnel, Project rpts for mgmt and sales staff. Secures appropriate expatriates resources by coordinating w/sr mgmt of Japan HQ and R&D division. Organizes and prioritizing multiple tasks. Supports US team for mgmt escalations to Japan HQ & Asian factories. Manages sales and/or mgmt mtgs utilizing English and Japanese verbal and written communication. Direct EEís in team-oriented work. Work w/cross-functional teams. Resp for shared rptng for expatriate staff reg pol, proc, employment evals, EE goal mgmt, and org planning. Assists NCAM mgmt team to align strategic goals of Nidec Japan w/NCAM. Coord mtgs w/Nidec Japan, prov verbal translation during conferences. Translates, interprets Nidec Japanís corp policies in Japanese into English for adoption & imp by NCAM. Translates and interprets NCAMís policies in English into Japanese for dissemination to Japanese expatriate EEís. Assists w/dev and revising Nidec Japanís corp policies, NCAMís policies by rec changes. Provides clear channel of comm between Nidec Japan, NCAM's Pres/COO reg corp strategy. Partners w/NCAM's Pres/COO to modify Nidec Japan's corp strategy to mkt conditions of North Amer mkt. Rec Nidec Japan staff for expatriation to U.S. for NCAM, based on skills, knowledge, experience, abilities of candidate pool. Creates, formats, modifies, analyses, disseminates MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint files for Co rpts, presentations, correspondence. Ensures understanding, creates synergies among cross-cultural & linguistically diverse staff. Prov sppt to HR during expatriation, repatriation of Japanese EEís. Supervises approx 12 EEís. 30% domestic and intnl travel.


Job Requirements:
A Bachelorís degree (or the foreign equivalent) in Law, Business Administration, Commerce, Economics, Engineering, Management or related and five (5) years of progressive experience in a sales management occupation in a motor-related industry. The required experience in a motor related occupation must include: Five (5) years of experience organizing and prioritizing multiple tasks concurrently. Five (5) years of experience preparing Sales, Personnel and Project reports and analyses involving attention to detail and process. Five (5) years of experience managing sales and/or management meetings utilizing verbal and written communication skills in both English and Japanese. Five (5) years of experience working in a team-oriented work environment with a demonstrated record of successful completion of objective goals. Five (5) years of experience working with team members and collaborating with other functional teams. Five (5) years of experience with Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Power Point. The associated skills are listed as follows: Microsoft Word: Formatting; applying styles; creating and modifying tables; creating and modifying sections; revision tracking; and chart creation. Microsoft Excel: Formula usage; function usage; modifying page layouts; working with multiple worksheets with shared data; creating and modifying tables; creating and modifying charts; sorting and filtering data; and the modification of worksheets. Microsoft PowerPoint: Formatting; creating and modifying themes; interactive presentation dissemination; creating and modifying tables; creating and modifying charts; slide transitions; and inserting objects and other media. Two (2) years of experience working with individuals across the world whose native language is not English in order to bridge language issues to create synergies among cross-cultural, language diverse teams. Two (2) years of experience in the small precision motor sales process (including product specifications and strategic planning) either in consumer or industrial segments. Bilingual fluency in Japanese and English (oral and written) Any and all experience may be gained concurrently.
