Job Description:


This role is a key position of the IT Leadership Team. Responsible for the design, management, administration and maintenance of the network infrastructure, servers, Active Directory, SAN, communications systems, and all related hardware and software. Responsible for overseeing network administrative duties including setting up new users, assisting users with network access, and resolving connection problems. Manages the installation of upgrades, patches, and nightly backups. Oversees the monitoring of system utilization and the security systems and posture. Manages the Service Desk workflow including overseeing and providing technical support to end users, answers questions, and prepares network training sessions as needed. Maintains activity logs and makes recommendations for new systems and products. Trains, directs, and supervises staff. Negotiates competitive and complex contractual relationships with vendors.


  1. Assumes responsibility for the effiecient, effective and accurate performance of the Network Manager position.

  1. Assumes responsibility for effectively managing and directing the administrative fucntions related to large and mid-range computer and network infrastructure.

  1. Assumes responsibility for providing effective technical support for all users.

  1. Proactively supports the Mission, Vision, Values and strategic business initiatives.

  1. Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective coordination and working relationships with co-workers and management.



Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or a bachelor's degree in an unrelated field combined with education, training, and experience related to computer and information systems.

One or more of the following certifications is preferred: ITIL, MCP, MTA, MCSA, MCSE, CCNA, CCNP, VMware.

Required Knowledge:

Understanding of operations and information needs.

Thorough understanding of information systems including focused knowledge on Windows Active Directory, Virtualization, Storage Area Networks, Cisco networking (routing and switching), and other related software and hardware.

Knowledge and understanding of infrastructure monitoring and management including service desk operations.

Ability to troubleshoot technical issues including research, planning, and providing appropriate recommendations.

Thorough knowledge of business software applications such as Microsoft Office.

SharePoint experience a plus.

Experience Required:

  • Experience leading a team of IT professionals.

  • Six (6) years of experience administrating a Windows and/or networking environment to include a minimum of four (4) years of managing technology teams.

  • Experience should include: design, daily operations, backups, restores, hardware, software upgrades, and VOIP.

Experience with the design, negotiations, and deployment of IT solutions.

Experience with current Windows desktop and server operating systems.

Experience supporting multiple sites for remote connectivity and daily network server and desktop issues.

Must be able to demonstrate established competency levels for all required regulatory or compliance-related processes and/or procedures within established timeframes of appointment.

Well Organized and able to use PC, terminal keyboards, and other related computer hardware.
