This position is responsible for supporting and improving our finance and related systems at Ogilvy Health (OH) US and all other WPP Health & Wellness companies. The Director - Business Solutions will assist the systems; financeteam and Ogilvy Health in supporting all finance related systems, including but not limited tp JD Edwards, TAP/TCC, EV5, Hubble, 0365, SharePoint, as well as configuration changes and business process improvements for all finance systems at OH. In this role, the Director - Business Solutions will play a lead role in financial system and related systems implementations at OH and other WPP companies, researching new functionality and products, and will be responsible for helping to provide systems support for all users. The role also requires working with operations to implement any new technology that interacts with finance systems.


As part of the systems team the Director - Business Solutions will help to define annual goals relating to the finance system, finance and the business.


The Director - Business Solutions is well-organized and analytical who has a proven background in financial systems. The Director - Business Solutions will have an in depth understanding of JD Edwards, has experience working with users to understand their requirements, has demonstrated an ability to translate user requests to technical specifications and has the ability to support users in resolving system issues and or processes. The candidate must have excellent verbal, written, presentation and planning skills and a proven track record of improving processes and working within teams. We are looking for a dedicated and driven person who will be instrumental in ensuring our financial systems remain current and relevant.


Responsibilities:




  • Identifying, defining and implementing financial and operational changes to support the business




  • Liaison with IBM and Coretech




  • Keeping current with latest trends in financial systems and identifying where OH can take advantage of these trends to improve processes, quality of data and management reporting




  • User Support




  • Work with the team to define annual goals of the department




Systems Development




  • Interpret business requirements and identify how our financial systems can meet these requirements or if enhancements / new software is required




  • Responsible for ensuring assigned development projects requested are valid and are approved by the business




  • Responsible for ensuring assigned technical specifications address the business requirements




  • Responsible for ensuring that timelines are met, user test scripts are created, systems tests are performed, users test, sign off from users obtained and IBM committed to a production deployment date




  • Lead certain user training sessions




  • Assist / Lead for data conversion activities, including mapping of legacy data to new system, data uploads to new system, data reconciliation between legacy data provided and output from new system




  • Provide Post Go Live support




Systems Configuration Changes




  • Responsible for ensuring any accounting/business changes that require configuration changes in the system are:




    • Discussed with the business




    • Defined by Systems




    • Defined, tested and reviewed with accounting and the Business






Business Process Improvements




  • Responsible for looking for opportunities using existing technology or new technology to improve business processes




Local IT and Coretech




  • Work with CIO/ Local CSM and Coretech to get issues addressed




  • Support and / or Lead for non-IT part of system implementations for all WPP Health & Wellness companies. This could include JDE, Hubble. SharePoint and any new software




  • Work with the systems team to manage projects




Requirements:



  • BS in Accounting or Information Technology

  • 10-15 years business experience

  • Must have worked on JDE Systems implementations and support, preferably in a service industry

  • Knowledge of SOX and IT-related controls


Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:



  • Must be able to demonstrate working knowledge of:


  • Accounting practices and terminology related to general ledger, job cost accounting, contract billing, financial reporting & budgeting, AR, AP and fixed assets.




  • The interrelation of JDE applications and JDE database structures




  • Database technologies such as MS SQL





  • Clear and concise oral and written communication skills

  • Effectively organize and prioritize work

  • Simultaneously manage and deliver multiple projects

  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications with emphasis on Excel and Access Skills and a willingness to learn O365

  • Experience using a Business Intelligence Tool / Reporting

  • Display a positive attitude when faced with stressful situations
