Under direction, is responsible for planning and coordinating the operations of assigned City parking facilities and/or ground transportation. Working conditions are primarily in an office environment. Exercises direct supervision over assigned staff.

This position is an "unclassified" position and has no disciplinary appeal rights to the Municipal Civil Service Commission. This position is likewise subject to at-will employment status, and can be terminated at any time for any reason.

Work Hours: Work hours will vary, to include shift work, weekends, and holidays. Generally, hours will be: 2:00 p.m. - 10:45 p.m.

Essential Job Functions:
Supervises the Convention Center Security Division and coordinates projects, parking, and security related activities between various divisions, City departments, public agencies, and/or private sector representatives.
Approves work schedules for all shifts and maintains records on all parking operation activities.
Interviews, hires, and trains new attendants and supervisors.
Develops and maintains training and operational manuals for new attendants and supervisors, and conducts periodic Supervisor Training Meetings.
Coordinates with outside agencies to plan for the handling of large crowds for conventions and other activities.
Implements management practices which allow for the personal growth of shift supervisors.
Given directives from Security Manager, implements solutions to address new or ongoing issues within the division as related to building security and safety.
Reviews equipment and supply requirements and prepares justifications.
Prepares safety and operational inspections of all parking facilities and develops procedures to alleviate theft.
Prepares final reports to be used by outside agencies to correct discrepancies.
Develops and maintains a preventive maintenance program on all equipment.
Monitors financial reports to determine adverse collection trends, growth/decline of operations, and other issues.
Conducts training of surveillance systems related to the CSF Command Center. Responds to building alarms and emergencies and ensures all protocols are followed by security personnel, employees, clients, vendors, and contractors.
Accomplishes administrative duties to support the division.
Performs related duties and fulfills responsibilities as required.


Job Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.
Two (2) years of supervisory or management experience in parking operations, retail business, or a service related industry. Experience in cash handling operations highly desirable.
Valid Class "C" Texas Driver's License OR valid driver's license from another state with the ability to obtain a valid Class "C" Texas Driver's License within 30 days of becoming a Texas resident. Use of your own personal vehicle may at time be required and proof of Liability Insurance will be required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience working in the security field at a stadium, sports arena or other large venue.
Law Enforcement, Military, or other public safety/security operations experience.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Four (4) years of experience supervising a temporary and/or contract agreement.
Knowledge of facility and event risk/threat analysis.
Intermediate to advanced skills using computers and Microsoft programs.
Ability to observe situations, resolve conflicts and respond appropriately.
Skilled in high end customer service while maintaining security policies.
Ability to maintain professional composure during high stress situations.
Investigative skills.
Experience in crime prevention utilizing CCTV surveillance.
