Summary Description:

The Manager, Test Security is responsible for setting the Test Security agenda for the Assessment Portfolio. This includes evaluating ongoing security risks, identifying and validating approaches to address and mitigate these risks and gaining buy-in to implement these strategies in concert with GMAC as well as Testing Vendors. Additionally, the Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of Test Security; updating senior management about serious test security breaches which may warrant legal action; and managing communications to test takers and schools in cases of major incidents (mass cancelation of scores) and introduction of new or changes in security policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop a Test Security Roadmap

  • Conduct risk analyses in partnership with key stakeholders to identify the most significant threats to the integrity and fairness of the Assessment Portfolio

  • Ideate and validate solutions to address these threats

  • Gain buy-in from key GMAC stakeholders (including Product Heads, Regional leads, etc.) to implement solutions that address these threats

  • Drive the implementation of these solutions in partnership with GMAC Technology and other Test Vendors

  • Gather anecdotal and empirical data to assess the effectiveness of these solutions

  • Maintain a deep understanding of the complexities involved in test security and of the policies and procedures that govern GMAC assessments

  • Work closely with GMAC Regions to understand and appropriately address regional concerns regarding policies and test security

Ongoing Test Security Management

  • Review security incidents and policy violations filed by the test centers

  • Manage major security incidents for GMAC's growing portfolio of assessments, including decisions that need to be made, appeals and exception requests that need to be handled, and communicating these decisions to test takers and schools;

  • Ensure the test security function aligns with GMAC's strategic initiatives

  • Ensure testing policies and procedures are effectively communicated to stakeholders and candidates and are enforced in accordance to those policies

  • Oversee the end-to-end security for item creation and usage and implementation of enterprise wide IP Security Principles

  • Investigate, verify, and document evidence of IP infringements

  • Manage the Test Security Associate Manager to guide the ongoing Test Security Management

Vendor Management

  • Maintain a working knowledge of all contracts that pertain to GMAC assessments; work closely with key stakeholders to ensure security concerns are identified and mitigated

  • Work closely with vendors to manage the implementation of various security initiatives agreed upon as a result of the quarterly security summits and/or from analysis of aberrant behavior

  • Oversee contract compliance pertaining to test security, including the consistent implementation of testing policies and procedures, reviewing secret shop reports and forensic data as well as service level agreements and KPIs

  • On an ongoing basis, recommend additions, modifications, or eliminations of unnecessary procedures and KPIs

Minimum Requirements:

  • 4 years related work experience in security and investigation.

  • Bachelor's degree in related field and/or certification; Or equivalent combination of education, skills, and experience.

  • Subject matter expertise in operational security and intellectual property issues.

  • Ability to manage and lead multiple projects.

  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.

  • Experience conducting multi-layered audits to foster continuous improvements in security processes and systems, including secret shops.

  • Strong analytical and investigative skills to be able to self-direct the proper and most efficient path to reaching a conclusion. Proven hands-on ability to perform moderately complex analytical projects.

  • Must be proficient with all standard office software.

  • Experience managing and maintaining confidential data.

Desired skills/experience:

  • Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) certification preferred.

  • Knowledge and experience with computer-based testing.

  • Demonstrated understanding of business operations.

  • Comfortable with managing proprietary technology applications.

  • Sense of urgency and drive.

  • High level of motivation, self-discipline, initiative, and independence.

  • Must be able to work in a team environment. Experience leading small group teams.
