About This Position

The University of Miami, Miller School of Medicine's Department of Public Health Sciences has an exciting career opportunity for a Sr. Manager, Research Grants Accounting (official title: Sr. Manager, Sponsored Programs). This position will provide financial services in processing all pre- and post-award research grant and contract administrative activities for the Department of Public Health Sciences, with a grants portfolio totaling over $18M. The Sr. Manager, Sponsored Programs will assist in all aspects of the grants management, systems, training, development, and processes in order to manage the department's grants portfolios.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration or related field; Master's degree preferred. Seven years of relevant experience in accounting environment or equivalent position. CRA (Certified Research Administration) certification preferred. Knowledge of business and management principles. Ability to direct, manage, implement, and evaluate department operations. Ability to establish department goals, and objectives that support the strategic plan. Ability to effectively plan, delegate and/or supervise the work of others. Ability to lead, motivate, develop, and train others. Able to work on project teams and execute work plans with the goal of improving department performance and/or providing quality customer service to our clients. Able to handle multiple demands, prioritize tasks and the pressure of meeting deadlines. A team player, who prefers to work in a collaborative environment. Ability to demonstrate self-directed and rational problem solving skills. Ability to be very resourceful and seek guidance when necessary in order to better work with the faculty of the department in the submission of grant proposals. Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Access and Word, and very comfortable with systems in general. Any relevant education, certifications and/or work experience may be considered.
