Job Description:


The University of Miami UMHC/SCCC - Oncology/Infusion Department (CTU) at Hollywood has an exciting opportunity for a Registered Nurse 2. The incumbent will be responsible for administering standard chemotherapy, research study agents and biotherapy agents, and non-chemotherapy medications. He/she will administer care to oncology patients as well as with multiple disease process and research study patients. Monitors therapeutic responses and side effects, and obtains pharmacokinetic blood samples and other laboratory specimens as required by each protocol. Assists in maintenance of up-to-date protocol information in clinical areas. Documents in a concise, accurate and legible manner according to clinical practice standards. Supports patients and their families during trial treatment. Works to educate patients and their families about their treatment and protocol requirements. Utilizes independent learning methods to become knowledgeable about new protocols and protocol changes.


Minimum Qualifications (Essential Requirements):




  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing




  • Current/valid Florida nursing license.




  • Three years recent oncology nursing experience




  • BLS & ACLS required




  • Recent experience in administering chemotherapy and biotherapy agents




  • Oncology Nursing Society Chemotherapy & Biotherapy Administration Guidelines provider course




  • Oncology certification preferred




  • Strong interpersonal communication skills




  • Proven track record of building relationships with physicians, direct reports and key staff




  • Moderate to advanced computer literacy and skills
