Job Description:

Location: Central PA / Northern MD - Mid Atlantic Region

Serve as general manager of a single Franchisee Performance Team (FPT) with ultimate responsibility for FPT and franchisee sales, profit and turnover. Work hands-on with franchisees to create sales goals and strategies and coach them on financial aspects of the business. Partner with recruiters to identify and select franchisees with the right skills and abilities to be successful. Monitor franchisee compliance. Serve as FPT leader by providing direct supervision and coaching to FPT members and maintaining ultimate decision-making responsibility for the FPT.

FPT Leadership

  • Manage overall sales and profit for FPT

  • Ensure franchisees are receiving maximized support from Snap-on

  • Supervise other FPT team members, including but not limited to the following activities:

    • Coordinate activities and responsibilities among FTP members

    • Coach FPT members

    • Lead FPT performance management process

    • Manage development / training needs of FPT members

    • Manage recruiting for FPT

  • Manage FPT transition to new franchisee model

Franchisee Business Planning

  • Work hands-on with franchisees in setting sales goals and strategies, ensuring the right mix of product groups for a balanced business (cash flow, margins, revolving accounts, extended credit)

  • Complete quarterly Total Business Review with franchisees to discuss business requirements and assist the franchisee with profitability and ROI

  • Identify, coach and assist underperforming franchisees by developing business recovery plans

  • Manage franchisee turnover and increase franchisee profitability for FPT

Franchisee Development and Compliance

  • Select new franchisees based on clearly defined success criteria

  • Communicate franchise compliance guidelines to franchisees; monitor and reinforce franchisee compliance; escalate compliance issues to Regional Manager, if necessary

  • Partner with Sales Developer to conduct franchisee sales meetings

Asset Management

  • Partner with asset management group to reduce losses and franchisee turnover

  • Conduct thirteen-week review and maintain contact with franchisee to ensure compliance with plan

  • Manage receivables and extended credit control

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required; MBA preferred

  • Equivalent internal experience would be running a top field group (defined by sales, EC losses and TDLs) for 3+ years

  • Management/supervisory experience

  • Business development or sales experience (minimum of one year)

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Business and financial acumen

  • Able to balance empathy for franchisees, customers and subordinates with business objectives

  • Applied knowledge of the psychology of selling

  • Subject matter expert-level knowledge of franchise contracts

  • Ability to creatively and proactively solve franchisee problems and communicate these solutions

  • Adept at Microsoft Office

Covered Drivers have the professional obligation to operate vehicles in accordance with federal, state, and local laws and codes.   • All drivers must be 18 years of age or older, and 21 years of age or older if driving a DOT-regulated truck.

  • The driver must pass initial alcohol and drug tests in accordance with policies prior to hire.

  • A candidate considered for employment must produce a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) with no major violations and no more than two minor violations within the last three years prior to hire.

  • The driver must be able to read, write and speak the English language.
