Job Description: Manage a team responsible for various public relations national campaigns, both digital and social media driven, across the business for major titles. Engage in the promotion and creation of a public image for the company. Drive publicity campaigns and initiatives internationally. Work on aspects of talent access, interviews, junkets, and assist on unit publicity. Work on red carpet events and talent tours. Respond to requests for information from the media and study objectives, promotional policies, and needs of the organization to develop public relations strategies that will influence public opinion and promotional ideas, products, and services. Confer with production and support personnel to produce and coordinate production of marketing and promotions. Confer with senior management to identify trends and key group interests. Provide advice on publicity-related business decisions. Track and report on the U.S. television and film industry, including compiling reports on current ratings, schedules, talents, box office rankings, and the latest programming. Oversee 1 lower-level subordinate consisting of a Junior Publicist.
Job Requirements: Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Business Administration or related field, plus five (5) years of progressive, post-baccalaureate publicity management or related experience directing and managing high profile publicity and promotional campaigns within the entertainment industry, including experience in planning and executing all aspects of national and international press strategy.
*Specific skills: Also requires experience or knowledge in: 1) Knowledge of international media, including print, broadcast and online; 2) Experience working and managing red-carpet events and talent tours; 3) Managing press activities including directing junkets and press tours; 4) Liaising with journalists, international broadcasters and bloggers in order to generate publicity; 5) Writing press releases, PR campaign strategies and post-campaign reports for the business; and 6) Building and maintaining relationships with talent reps, PR firms, festivals, leading media and TV shows.
