The Sr Network Engineering Manager will manage the team of network engineers performing on a large DoD related Program. This individual needs to also be a qualified network engineer in their own right, in addition to being able to supervise a team of network engineers.
Able to make staff assignments and review the network status for all SIPRNET/secure and NIPRNET/unclassified networks that this program is responsible for managing.
Able to address any network related problems that may arise including adjusting assigned duties, enforcing deadlines, and ensuring that tasks are worked to closure. Able to report progress, and able to serve in a management facing and client-facing role. Excellent communication skills as well as personal technical skills.
In support of the overall Program Chief Engineer, will be able to formulate and implement network related strategies, and then report all this to Program Management and to the client professionally and accurately. Able to formulate and assign actions and then track these to closure.
Will ensure the US Army client receives the result of excellently functioning, reliable, efficient, and highly secure operational SIPRNET and NIPRNET networks. Able to support Orals and inspire confidence in the customer.
Education and Experience:
*Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university required, in a technology related field
*Prior successful experience managing SIPRNET Nodes
*Prior successful experience managing NIPRNET related networks
*At least six (6) years of experience working in Network Engineering required
*At least 3 years prior experience successfully managing technical engineers
*Ability to demonstrate prior experience using a set of modern network tools and network monitoring technologies
*Could include some of these: Network/Firewall/IDS/IPS experience (Cisco, Arista, Juniper, Palo Alto); IP routing (BGP & OSPF); Hot Standby Router Protocol (HSRP); Network Address Translation (NAT) and MPLS L3 VPN
*Experience troubleshooting and configuring network hardware devices to include routers, switches, firewalls and servers required
*Experience troubleshooting technical issues that have been escalated to Tier 2 and Tier 3 support in a 24×7 hour operational environment
*Organized, timely, and customer service oriented
*Ability to work well independently and in a team setting
*Adaptability, flexibility and ability to deal with ambiguity and change
*Systems Engineered Approach
*Excellent oral and written communication and customer service skills
*Excellent attention to detail and good analytical skills
Additional requirements as per Client/Contract requirements:
*Must be U.S. Citizen
*Must currently hold DoD Secret
*Ability to lift or carry objects up to 10 lbs.
