Job Description:
Mexican restaurant in Buffalo NY, looking for 2 prep cooks and 2 line cooks to join our team to help us achieve our mission of creating lasting memories through exceptional food and service while taking pride in everything we do. The ideal candidate will possess the skills needed to maintain a high volume of production ensuring quality, consistency and creativity. This person will have strong personal management skills, an ability to work/master all stations, strong communication skills, and be detail oriented.

Prep cooks are responsible for preparing vegetables and meats for line cooks and cleaning. The line cooks are responsible for plating and cooking based on our menu. May also be responsible for doing additional preperation work and cleaning.

Job Requirements:
A stable work history
The ability to work 40 hours a week
Open availability to work days, nights, weekends (no Sundays), holidays (no major holidays)
Ability to follow directions from owners
Ability to work in all line stations
Ability to work as a team with line cooks, management, servers and every employee in the restaurant
Problem solving skills
Self-motivated and energetic
Passion for food presentation
Exceptional line cooking skills and experience expediting food
The ability to develop recipes, establish presentation techniques, and standardize production to ensure quality
Train, manage and evaluate kitchen personnel
Commitment to quality service, food quality and trend knowledge
Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure
Previous work experience of restaurant dining
Assist in menu development, inventory, ordering/purchasing, food cost controls, training, sanitation, and personnel management to include hiring, firing, counseling, coaching and developing line cooks.
Minimum of two to five years of culinary/kitchen management experience
Knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation
Batch cooking or high volume cooking experience preferred
Experience with food production for catering functions
ServSafe Certified a plus
