Job Description:

The QA Technician is responsible for conducting pre-operational inspections and ATP swabbing, environmental monitoring, food safety inspections and performing various monitoring tasks on 3rd shift.

This position supports in managing the compliance with off shift sanitation and will constantly interact with staff to ensure compliance at all times. Sound character, good judgment, accuracy and attention to details are very important to a successful performance in this position.

Third Shift - Sunday thru Thursday, 10:00 pm - 6:00 am


  • Responsible for performing all pre-op inspections including environmental swabbing, safety checks and potential foreign body issues.

  • Liaise with sanitation team during pre-op inspections.

  • Responsible for review of factory paperwork to verify products meet all food safety and quality requirements prior to shipping.

  • Conducts sanitation audits and housekeeping inspections.

  • Performs internal calibrations of QA equipment.

  • Has authority to prevent release of equipment/area to production due to food safety concerns and escalates issues to management as needed where food safety may be compromised.

  • Point of contact for 3rd party sanitation - working with sanitation team to resolve issues relating to sanitation performance.

  • Provides weekly reporting on sanitation performance.

  • Communication and handover with QA personnel from adjacent shifts.

  • Works with other teams as necessary to resolve issues.

  • Champions GMP standards for 3rd shift and provides training where necessary.

  • Must have the functional literacy and oral communication skills in English for safety and following job specific instructions. ​

The Ideal Candidate

  • Proven track record showing the ability to prioritize, seek process improvements, recommend and follow through positive changes resulting in goal achievement, be proactive and manage time effectively.

  • High School Diploma and/or

  • Minimum two years' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education or experience, evaluated by senior management.

  • Experience working in industries regulated by FDA and/or USDA.
