Summary:


The Associate Project Manager (APM) is responsible for learning project development processes, acting as liaison with all disciplines (Account Services, Creative Art and Copy, Editorial, Interactive, Production, Studio, Business Management, and Finance) while delivering on projects to which they are assigned. This individual is charged with delivering aspects of projects assigned on time, on specification, on budget and provides completed documentation. The APM will participate in the management of each new project from kick-off to post mortem, working with the Project Manager / Senior Project Manager and Account Management to clarify program design and details. The ideal candidate will have experience with interactive or traditional direct marketing agency experience. Project Management executes the strategy that supports service delivery, client profitability, and client satisfaction, and employs program delivery best practices across clients.



Responsibilities:


Team Management



  • Supports and participates in defining the overall scope of a project in multi-functional team, including account, strategy, medical, IA, Creative, Tech, QA, etc, defining the overall scope of a project

  • Able to communicate and document project risks and future impact of project decisions to ensure project and deliverables stay on track, escalate and document as appropriate

  • Follows agency and client standard operating procedures and utilizes appropriate tools and templates for each required task.

  • Documents technical and other specifications from client and/or account management and/or discipline lead

  • Effectively captures meeting notes and able to produce effective recaps

  • Participates issue logging and management process over the life of an engagement

  • Focused on learning and developing sound implementation plans which meet project strategy while considering both budget and timing.

  • Communicates with other team members to monitor ongoing progress and make adjustments when required

  • Manages project responsibilities throughout the project lifecycle from inception to completion


Client Services



  • The APM learns client facing techniques and will develop a client-facing role to support the business objectives and delivery.

  • Gather project information, including production and technical specifications, to support internal and client expectations as it relates to project scope

  • Aware of the latest trends in direct marketing practices


Business Responsibilities



  • Understands the impact of performance metrics, creative development, and cross channel technology implementation on the product delivery process



  • Comfortable with electronic data transfer system methodologies used for submissions and routing



  • Ensures all QA has been performed and approves completeness of project deliverables

  • Prepares documentation to communicate project resource allocations and confirms it is in line with project estimated budgets


Requirements:



  • BS / BA Degree

  • Minimum requirements include 1-3 years professional work experience.

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Needs to be the team member who gets it done, and is instrumental in the delivery of advertising projects and campaigns

  • Detail-oriented and focused on accuracy and quality, strives for perfection

  • Actively pursuing a project management career track

  • Desire to learn the details of the creative development process on product delivery

  • Desire to learn the details of the digital and technology development process on product delivery

  • Interest in managing multi-channel marketing projects and campaigns: print production, e-mail, web development, print and direct mail.

  • Additional software experience is valuable in Microsoft Project , Microsoft Visio and Adobe Creative Suite software, and web development technologies
