We are in immediate need of a Senior Construction (Project) Manager in our Scarborough, Maine office. This role will immediately support the large capital plan for varying clients, and oversight of future EPC lead power projects.
Our EPC and HIP efforts are in a growth pattern.The need for a CM Groupis developing, its focus will follow the projectsinthe geographies where thoseprojects exist.
Your Key Responsibilities
Schedules: Review the progress schedule, schedule of Shop Drawing and Sample submittals, and schedule of values prepared by Contractor and consult with Engineer concerning acceptability.
Conferences and Meetings: Attend meetings with Contractor, such as preconstruction conferences, progress meetings, job conferences and other project-related meetings, and prepare and circulate copies of minutes.
Interpretation of Contract Documents: Report to Engineer when clarifications and interpretations of the Contract Documents are needed and transmitto Contractor clarifications and interpretations as issued by Engineer.
Conduct on-Site observations of Contractor's work in progress to assist Engineer in determining if the Work is in general proceeding in accordance with the Contract Documents.
Be a mentor, guide and valued counsel on other construction period efforts. This includes supporting the team's efforts and being a sounding board for other EPC projects.
Travel will be 80% with limited time in Scarborough for coordination
Business development for HIP and Power work
Train new junior CMs as we grow the team and provide long term business plans for this supporting team
Your Capabilities and Credentials
Highly skilled technical expert in all relevant areas of construction and understanding of various design and construction methods.
Requires comprehensive and broad knowledge of local, state and federal building codes, construction principles, techniques and procedures, occupational hazards and safety precautions.
Ability to effectively discuss project issues with contractor, project team and clients, including ability to resolve conflict situations.
Excellent organizational skills and understanding of task assignment and schedule.
Superior written and verbal communication skills.
Advanced knowledge of critical path method scheduling.
Education and Experience
Bachelors or Masters' degree in related field; or equivalent combination of education and construction experience. Minimum of 8-10 years of experience.
Typical office environment working with computers and sitting at a desk. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
