Job Description:
Utilize your experience providing technical support for the management, control, design, and integration of Oracle database systems and join the Department of Transportation as an Oracle Database Administrator!

The Data Management Unit provides production operational support, corporate custodianship and development support services for all WisDOT’s database management systems and data models across all development environments and platforms. This unit also includes the development, implementation and review of policy, standards guidelines and procedures in support of physical database structures, data modeling, and maintaining the integrity of the department’s corporate data.

This position works with complex Oracle database systems within the corporate professional application development and end-user environments at the Department of Transportation, providing research, development, and consulting services. The Oracle DBA will participate in projects from genesis through completion and maintenance, requiring a strong understanding of data management principles and techniques as it relates to performance, security and recoverability, and the ability to work in a team.

The Oracle DBA will also provide technical consulting support for the management, control, tuning, design, upgrading and installation of Oracle database systems. This position serves as the technical consultant to review and verify the technical feasibility and integration of new database technologies and the applications that use them.

This full time permanent position is located within the Bureau of Information Technology Services, Division of Business Management, Department of Transportation headquartered at the brand new Hill Farms State Office Building on the near west side of Madison. Job Requirements:
Minimally qualified applicants must have all of the following in order to be considered:

•Experience supporting Oracle Enterprise edition databases as an Oracle DBA
•Experience supporting relational databases
•Experience with Microsoft SQL and/or PL/SQL tuning

A well qualified applicant may also have experience with Oracle system architecture, supporting Oracle Exadata Cloud services, providing consultation on database design/standards, leading teams to implement database solutions, or data modeling.

Occasional evening or weekend hours may be required as part of the position's regular job duties to perform patch, upgrades, deployments, etc.
