Seeking Director of Survey Operations in the Permian!

The Director of Survey Operations is ultimately accountable for safe profitable growth of the entire Permian Basin business unit. This person would contribute significantly to key decisions including the overall strategic direction of our organization in the Permian Basin. Typical duties include formulating policies and strategic plans for future growth, and guiding daily operations of personnel to ensure that all resources of the company are managed and coordinated in an efficient and professional manner.


  • Bachelor's degree or Associate degree in engineering, safety, science or another related degree

  • 10+ years' progressive experience in a consulting environment/ service-oriented company working with oil and gas operators

  • In-Depth understanding of the oil and gas, mining, sector including existing relationships that can be leveraged into a new local business

  • Business acumen to understand business risk and challenges along with the ability to recognize corporate opportunities

  • Strong people leadership skills and passion to manage, develop and grow a team of direct and indirect reports

  • Has experience managing multiple teams across multiple disciplines consisting of 100+ people

Essential Duties:

  • Ensure safe and efficient operations throughout the Permian Basin

  • Manage the Permian Basin area with a primary focus on profitable growth, client development, people leadership, sales and delivery of services to our clients

  • Manages and monitors work performance by directing subordinate supervisors, administrative, technical and/or professional employees

  • Participates in the development and administration of Permian budgets by reviewing and monitoring expenditure reports, requisitions, gathering and reviewing costs for the operational maintenance of company vision

  • Plans and develops department goals by gathering data and information from other departments, and reviews growth patterns and local economic development.

  • Reviews department performance data (financial, budgets, sales and activity reports) to monitor and measure productivity, goal progress and activity levels

  • Collaborates with Safety Manager to ensure all work is done is a safe manner

  • Maximizes new client engagements and works with the leadership team to develop plans to meet future needs

  • Evaluates program/work objectives and effectiveness, and realigns work and staffing assignments, as needed

  • Serve as a people champion within the Permian Basin area driving culture and core values through others

  • Manage a high performing team including resource planning, recruiting, retention, performance management and career development

  • Identify emerging leaders and work with them to help them reach their full potential

  • Determines appropriate asset allocation for each operating location. Deploys the proper manpower, equipment, furniture and supplies to achieve operational success. As project scope changes, determines the best way to reallocate all resources including all manpower and assets so allocated
