As a core contributor to the Operational Finance Team, the Payroll Administrator ’s primary responsibility is the bi-weekly payroll. In addition, this position will be responsible for the following functions: reconciliations of all payroll related accounts; miscellaneous accounts receivable; expense reimbursements; and accounts payable support. The Payroll Administrator will work in collaboration with the Operational Finance Team to support the month-end close.


• Payroll Processing:
o Bi-weekly payroll processing including time import for hourly payroll, staff time to projects, and paid time off.
o Verify payroll for accuracy and completeness prior to processing and prepare reconciliation to be reviewed by the Director, Finance Operations.
o Review and upload journal entry created via ADP/GL integration for each payroll cycle.
o Prepare third-party payments (i.e., garnishments, benefit providers, etc).
o Review ADP 403(b) match calculations and other employee-directed deductions, monthly benefit withholdings against invoices and prepare monthly benefit reclass entry.
o Assist HR, as needed, with employee on-boarding/off boarding and benefits: Ensuring that the HRIS/time/payroll systems reflect the appropriate salary, department, personal information, benefit and other deductions, garnishments, and withholding taxes for each employee.
o Quarterly reconciliations for 941 reporting, third-party reports, and other assigned accounts.
o Become knowledgeable in the organization’s payroll and benefits policy and insure compliance with such policies.
o Maintain adequate internal controls over payroll set-up and subsequent changes.
o Make recommendations and implement best practices for our HRIS/Time/Payroll system. Attend periodic technical training to maintain proficiency and best practices.
• Responsible for monthly invoicing and cash application of miscellaneous accounts receivable.
• Process CJP employees’ expense report reimbursements timely according to the Travel & Entertainment policy and provide back-up support to Accounts Payable as needed.
• Assist with month-end close process and payroll account reconciliations.
• Assist with the preparation of year-end audit schedules related to payroll. Assist with annual 403(b) and Workers Compensation Audit.
• Other duties as assigned with or without accommodation.

Job Requirements:
• Associate Degree in Accounting or related field.
• Payroll/Benefits certification preferred.
• 4-5 years of payroll and benefits experience.
• Knowledge of payroll and employee benefits.
• Knowledge of tax implications regarding payroll and benefits.
• Proficient with HRIS/time/payroll software packages (ADP a plus).
• Advanced skill level with Microsoft Excel.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other Windows-based applications.
• Fine attention to detail and strong accuracy skills, logic and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality, strong prioritization, organization and follow-through skills.
• Ability to leverage technology to achieve operational efficiency and compliance.
• Ability to work on multiple tasks concurrently and meet tight deadlines.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal, and communication skills.
• Ability to be flexible and adaptable to changes and shifting priorities
