Job Description:

Ipas works globally to increase women's ability to exercise their sexual and reproductive rights and to reduce abortion-related deaths and injuries. We seek to expand the availability, quality and sustainability of abortion and related reproductive health services, as well as improve the enabling environment. Ipas believes that no woman or girl should have to risk her life or health because she lacks safe reproductive health choices. The Contracts and Grants Specialist (CGS) is responsible for supporting the Sr. Contracts and Grants Manager in the day-to-day administration of award and subaward data in Ipas's award library and financial system, Workday, as well as through researching, drafting, and supporting the training and compliance monitoring of various Ipas and donor policies. The CGS will be a highly collaborative member of the GLAM team.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Conduct setup, maintenance, and close out of awards in Ipas's financial system. Ensure accuracy of all in-system award data. Collaborate quickly and closely to address data gaps and inaccuracies.

  • Maintain Ipas's Award Library by drafting, updating and/or distributing Award Authorization notifications.

  • Develop a strong understanding of donor and Ipas policy requirements to enhance support to the department. Keep up with industry trends, the competitive environment, regulatory issues, and compliance requirements, and conduct ongoing research in these areas, as needed.

  • Support preparation of donor due diligence responses.

  • Contribute to the strengthening and upkeep of Ipas sub-agreement-related policies, procedures, templates, and monitoring tools.

  • Maintain Ipas's policy intranet site and its related procedures and templates.

  • Contribute to global risk mitigation and compliance-focused research and policy development.

  • Host global contracts/grants-focused calls and prepare draft global communications, as requested.

  • Liaise with Global offices, operations departments, and other firm resources as needed to achieve Ipas's C&G goals.

  • Fulfil other duties as requested.


  • Bachelor's degree

  • 3+ years of progressively responsible experience in the nonprofit sector.

  • Direct management of sub-awards and/or international development project management experience.

  • Experience working with Workday or similar financial management system.

  • Demonstrated initiative and drive with an ability to work independently, while fostering an atmosphere of teamwork and collaboration.

  • Excellent customer-service skills with the ability and desire to engage with Ipas staff.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Strong organizational skills with an ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously. High integrity, sound judgment and discretion regarding the handling of confidential information.

  • Experience drafting organizational policy and procedures

  • Training, facilitating, and capacity building experience

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with accounting/financial management principles

  • International development experience

  • Professional experience outside of the US, preferably in Africa, Asia, or Latin America

  • Language capacity in Spanish, French, Portuguese
