About This Position

The Department of Dermatology at the University of Miami, Miller School of Medicine, has an exciting opportunity for a Postdoctoral Associate. The Postdoctoral Associate investigates the use of spectral domain OCT in the diagnosis and treatment of macular degeneration and retinal diseases with the ultimate goal of measuring the efficacy of treatment. Moreover, the Postdoctoral Associate engages in research activities to further the department's goals.

The duties and responsibilities for this position may include, but are not limited to:

  • Establishes and organizes clinical databases.

  • Assists in early clinical trials using new treatment modalities.

  • Assumes responsibility for reading and quantifying images obtained from (patient) clinical trials.

  • Assists with additional studies using SD-OCT.

  • Develops new algorithms to investigate macular diseases.

  • Disseminates findings in publications, meetings, and applications for individual fellowships.

  • Maintains current knowledge of developments and advancements in the field.

  • Collects data and creates relevant reports.

  • Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

  • Design, develop and execute own scientific research and developmental ideas in collaboration with research team.

  • Write scientific reports and help assemble grant applications for federal and non-federal institutions.

Minimum Qualifications

Ph.D. in a relevant field of study or M.D. Strong analytical skills. Outstanding verbal and written communication skills. High attention to detail. Effective interpersonal skills. Outstanding presentation skills.
