Job Description:

The Technical Services Manager manages the food safety; supplier approval system and label information generation to ensure our products, systems and facilities meet the requirements of our customers, and comply with applicable Federal, State and Local regulatory agencies. Liaises closely with the Company to share best practice learning with the group and to ensure that at all times the Company standards are maintained.

Food Safety

  • Responsible for managing and implementing processes and programs that ensure materials and products meet food safety and quality requirements and regulations.

  • Develops and maintains food safety plans for USDA/FDA/Seafood products.

  • Collates data from food safety incidents trending, conducts audits and reviews of the food safety systems and ensures compliance.

Supplier & Raw Materials

  • Manages supplier and co-packers programs including collecting material specifications and supplier food safety information.

  • Partners with R&D and purchasing to ensure all suggested suppliers and materials meet company and legislative requirements.

  • Manages approved supplier list for all food and packaging materials

  • Conducts materials review and verification to assure compliance to specifications.

  • Investigates complaints related to supplier performance and materials

Quality Systems

  • Manages and maintains product specifications data base.

  • Provides support to the business in implementation of quality systems, review of data and participation in 3rd party audits.

  • Maintains quality management system


  • Responsible for the creation of ingredients declaration for product label.

  • Reviews product label declarations to ensure compliance to regulatory and customer requirements

  • Accountable for sign off of delivered labels, sleeves against approved artwork.

  • Conducts annual review of all art work.

  • Supports business by providing advice on regulatory requirements relating to food safety.

The Ideal Candidate

  • HACCP/PCQI certifications are required and essential for this role.

  • Working knowledge of Genesis nutritional software.

  • Experience with regulatory labeling regulations per USDA and FDA requirements.

  • Minimum of five years of experience in the food industry or related field.

  • BS degree in Food Science or related field.

  • Previous supervisory experience.
