Community Outreach Intern

We are looking for an enthusiastic intern to support our Outreach Team. The Outreach Intern is responsible for assisting with all aspects of general administration within the outreach function. This role will report to and support the Outreach/Public Relations Director and be an integral partner in facilitating outreach activities. In this role, the Outreach Coordinator will provide administrative and project management support throughout the giving process.

The successful candidate will have a positive attitude, professional demeanor and appearance and a strong work ethic. Attendance and punctuality are of the utmost importance.

This is a part-time, (20-25 hours/week) paid internship, with no benefits offered

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage charitable giving: mail processing, review, follow-up contact, card/check processing, database tracking, and postal mailing

  • Research non-profits

  • Create and monitor the Outreach Furniture Donations

  • Maintain appropriate records of contact

  • Track and maintain reporting and work with accounting weekly to ensure accurate records

  • Order department give-a-way supplies as needed

  • Participate in outreach activities as needed

  • Ad hoc project support as necessary

Required Qualifications

  • Experience in an administrative support type role

  • Excellent communication skills - both verbal and written

  • High attention to detail

  • Self-directed individual who can work independently and yet collaborate with team members cross-functionally as necessary

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent organizational skills with ability to multi-task, plan and prioritize in a high volume environment with competing demands

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite; to include Outlook, Excel, and Word

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • Experience working as in community outreach or nonprofit roles

  • Bilingual a plus
