At Ogilvy Health, Senior Copywriters fully understand that art and copy go together to create the most effective communications. As part of a creative duo, the Sr. Copywriter creates concepts and develops communications that express original ideas, have emotional appeal, compel actions, establish and build brands. They know their brand(s) inside and out, leveraging in-house experts to gain a full understanding of the science (medical directors), market/strategy (planners) and clients (account leads). They are conceptual, strategic, curious people capable of bringing ideas to life in many, different ways. They are gaining expertise in the medical, legal and editorial needs of their clients. They demonstrate/develop problem-solving abilities to bridge the creative needs with the Med legal obligations.
Consistently develops manuscripts that reflect strong attention to detail, comprehensive in scope (vis-à-vis references/annotations) and a firm understanding of the communications objective, client nuances and timing/budget parameters
Capable of creating compelling and strategically sound creative solutions
Strives for consistent brand executions across multi-channel campaigns
Has strong understanding of audience needs and mindset
Participates in internal concept reviews and can "sell" their work with enthusiasm and sound rationale
Demonstrates a willingness and ability to handle multiple projects
Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)/Bachelor of Science (B.S.)
Course work/degree features visual arts/marketing/advertising/communications
3+ years of pharmaceutical advertising agency experience
Ideal for those interested/experienced in "higher science" brands
(eg, antibiotics/antivirals/cancer treatments)
