WEYI-TV NBC 25 / WSMH-TV FOX 66, in Flint, Michigan, is looking for an experienced consumer investigative reporter.

We are looking for an enterprising, aggressive and motivated journalist with a can-do attitude that can enterprise consumer news stories. We are looking for an experienced journalist who knows how to develop stories with a viewer benefit, shoot, edit, and present in an engaging and informative way on all the station's platforms: on air, online, social media and mobile. We are looking for someone who develops consumer-focused content that is a reason for viewers to watch in a competitive news market. The ideal candidate will have outstanding news judgment and demonstrate great live, fact gathering and storytelling skills. The ability to manage deadlines, work on multiple projects simultaneously, and work independently is critical.


  • Must have at least one (1) year reporting experience at a commercial TV station

  • This position requires working various shifts and holidays, as needed

  • Consumer reporting and live newscast reporting

  • Developing enterprise stories and source contacts

  • Shooting, editing, and writing for on-air, website, social media, mobile, and other digital platforms

  • Prior experience with iNews and nonlinear editing is preferred

  • The ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds

  • Maintain assigned photography gear and vehicles and operate in a safe manner

  • Must have and maintain a valid driver's license and a good driving record

  • Applicants must have a degree in journalism or a related field

  • Participate in frequent public appearances and community events
