LONG-HAUL TRUCK DRIVER (NOC 7511)

Permanent Position: Long-Haul Truck Driver

Number of positions available 2

Terms of Employment: Permanent, Full Time, Overtime, Weekend, Day, Night, Evening.

Wage rate: $24.00 - $26.00 hourly, 50.00 Hours per week. (Overtime will be paid after 60 hours)

Anticipated Start Date: As soon as possible

Business location: 5761 146 Street, Surrey, British Columbia, V3S 2Z5, Canada. Candidates are required to go to various Locations all over North America.

Education: Not Required.

Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.): Driver's Licence (Class 1 or A) and Air Brake (Z) Endorsement.

Experience: No experience required. Paid on job training will be provided.

Languages: Basic Knowledge of English

Type of Trucking and Equipment: Tractor-trailer, Extended length tractor-trailer combination, Logging, highway.

Type of Travel: Long-haul, Provincial/ territorial, International.

Documentation Knowledge: Driver logbook, Bill of lading, Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip), Trans-border documentation, Maintenance and repair reports, Trip reports.

Communication Equipment Experience: Cellular phone, Satellite tracking (GPS) equipment

Weight Handling: Up to 45 kg (100 lbs)

Job Duties:

1. Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials.
2. Perform pre-trip, on the way and post-trip review of vehicle.
3. Note down cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption
4. Loading and unloading of goods.
5. Plan travel schedules and routes, use atlases and other trip planning aids.
6. Receive and relay information to central dispatcher.
7. Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy.
8. Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment.
9. Monitor vehicle performance and mechanical fitness.

Security and Safety: Basic security clearance, Criminal record check, Driving record check (abstract), Medical exam, Drug test

Benefits: Relocation expenses will be covered by the employer as well as the first three months of medical insurance, if required.
