The Rundown

One of our best client companies is looking for an exceptional Quality Manager with Aerospace experience to join their team!

Required Skills

Successful candidates will have:

  • Four-year degree in a technical/related discipline

  • At least 5 years of management experience

  • Experience working in manufacturing or a Quality Assurance Department

  • FAA experience

  • Training and experience in AS9100, ISO9000 and/or TS16949 quality systems

  • ASQ auditor, engineer, or manager certification a plus

  • Training and experience in SPC, lean manufacturing, and Kaizen are a plus

  • Training in computers, statistical analysis, process control, auditing techniques are highly preferred

  • Great communication, teamwork and leadership skills

Job Description

  • Provide technical guidance and direction to quality control team, other departments & suppliers.

  • Propose ideas and improve productivity

  • Prepare and/or review QA policies, procedures and other instructions

  • Work with Registrar to schedule audits, facilitate/host audits, and respond to findings/opportunities

  • Lead Supplier Quality Initiatives collaboratively with purchasing

  • Act as the overall coordinator/facilitator of Corrective/Preventive Actions (CAPA) - role is responsible for working with all department heads, engineers, etc. toward getting involvement and results from the CAPA process.

  • Assure all plant support equipment is available for conformity checks

  • Review primary documents against customer quality requirements, quality management system requirements, inspection, and special gauge or tool requirements

  • Support company training objectives and further the development of Quality staff by developing training, conducting classes and participating in related meetings

  • Analyze Cost of Quality (COQ) data using Pareto Analysis, leading to COQ reductions

  • Occasional travel to customers/suppliers (could be international)
