About This Position

The Department of Molecular and Cellular Pharmacology at the University of Miami, Miller School of Medicine has an exciting career opportunity for a Research Associate 2. The Research Associate 2 contributes to the University's research activities under the supervision of senior staff. Moreover, this position understands, interprets, and complies with research policies and protocols.

Under the supervision of the principal investigator or another assigned individual, the Research Associate 2 performs the following duties:

  • Executes experiments and assists in experimental designs.

  • Keeps a dated, detailed, well-organized and up-to-date lab notebook which serves as a record of the rationale, the experimental design, the materials and procedures used, any changes to the work as performed, and the results, including all documentation.

  • Executes various lab maintenance tasks as assigned.

  • Provides training in specific procedures to new staff members.

  • Takes primary responsibilities for general lab maintenance.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in appropriate area, depending on the lab and project. At least two years of relevant experience. Skills in the specific technologies to be used for the project. Experience in using the specific technology. Skill in collecting, organizing, and analyzing data. Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems. Ability to exercise sound judgment in making critical decisions. Any relevant education, certifications and/or work experience may be considered.
