GDIT is currently hiring a Monitoring Cell Analyst at Lackland AFB in support of the 690th Cyberspace Operations Group (690 COG) performing 24/7/365 Air Force Information Network (AFIN) operations that includes defensive cyberspace operations (DCO), network management, information assurance, and fault resolution activities to maintain the operational capabilities of the network, establish the domain for AF cyberspace operations, and ensure AF cyberspace superiority.

Monitoring Cell Analyst

Responsibilities include:

  • Monitor, identify, analyze, document, and report on events and incidents occurring on AFIN systems to include 24 AF operated systems and reported AFIN end-user degradations and outages.

    • Identifying outages or degradations of 24 AF operated systems within assigned AOR

    • Deconflicting outages or degradations of 24 AF operated systems with ASI

    • Documenting and reporting identified outages or degradations of 24 AF operated systems

  • Monitor, identify, analyze, document, and report outages or degradations of 24 AF operated systems.

    • Performing routine hardware/software checks for 24 AF operated equipment including: routers, switches, firewalls, web proxies, and servers (Domain Controllers, Exchange, Certificate Authorities, etc.)

    • De-conflict on-going ASIs with identified degradations/outages

    • Recording routine checks in Master Station Log

    • Collecting, documenting, and reporting actionable intelligence for initial event and incident response

  • Monitor, identify, analyze, document, and report AFIN end-user incidents.

    • Performing routine queries of incident management database to identify end-user AFIN issues

    • Documenting and reporting actionable intelligence to military lead for initial incident response

Please note: Shift work possible.

Associates Degree in a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.

  • 3-5 years of directly related experience supporting network operations.

  • Current Secret security clearance or higher, or be eligible for and obtain prior to starting work

  • Current 8570 IAT II Level Certification (CNA-Security, GICSP, GSEC, Sec+ CE, SSCP) or higher

Additional industry certifications may be required within specific time frames.
