WCYB-TV is seeking an experienced, hands-on Assistant News Director with strong leadership skills who can help guide our daily news gathering content.



Responsibilities include:




  • Responsible for initiating and managing content delivery on multiple platforms

  • Work closely with News Director to establish news content, philosophy, and direction

  • Ensure the daily goals and missions are executed, tracked and communicated to our team

  • Review daily newscasts to ensure quality control and brand compliance, and subsequently provide feedback to all news staff

  • Knowledge of the Avid and i-News content platforms is a plus



Requirements:




  • Must have a working knowledge of journalistic ethics, libel, and privacy laws

  • Must have a demonstrated ability to manage multiple hours of daily newscasts

  • Must take a multi-screen approach in developing news content for on-air, online, and social media platforms

  • A journalism degree and a minimum of three (3) years of experience in news management with noted leadership skills
