About This Position

The Department of Microbiology and Immunology at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine has an exciting career opportunity for a Research Associate 2. We are seeking individuals with experience in translational hematology, immunology, and/or oncology research. The Research Associate 2 will support research activities under the direction of a Principal Investigator, Program Director, or designee of the Principal Investigator. This position will perform comprehensive laboratory procedures of low and high complexity. The Research Associate 2 will be responsible for completing laboratory tasks related to research efforts and will be performing experiments as well as monitoring and recording findings.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in a basic or biomedical health science related field of study. At least two to five years of relevant work related experience in basic, preclinical and/or translational hematology, immunology, and/or oncology research. Prior experience with mammalian cell culture, flow cytometry, small animal handling, and cell and molecular biology techniques are required. Ability to communicate and convey information effectively. Ability to work successfully both independently and as part of a team. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions. Strong organizational and analytical skills. Must be self-motivated with the ability to take initiative. Ability to design and conduct scientific experiments. Ability to conduct statistical data analysis. Proficiency and experience using Microsoft Office Suite software. Any relevant education, certifications and/or work experience may be considered.
