Junior Software Engineer for the C2BMC Labs and Warfighters (CLAW) organization at the Missile Defense Integration and Operations Center (MDIOC), Schriever AFB. Responsible for performing activities focused on the configuration and operation of a wide range of test stimulus and monitoring tools, to include a major Linux‐based simulation system and various tactical message injection and monitoring systems (both Windows and UNIX based). Activity will include the development of software libraries and tools to support message recording, playback and data manipulation. Candidate must be able to quickly adapt to new situations and short deadlines, have a strong commitment to a team environment, demonstrate the capacity to work unsupervised and be willing to learn new technologies. Primary duty hours fall within core support hours of 0800‐1600, Monday - Friday as scheduled, but will periodically work night, weekend and extended hours as dictated by a team rotating schedule to support customer requirements, troubleshooting, testing, and event support.
Basic Requirements: HS Diploma (or GED) with 4 years of general experience and/or an Associate's degree with 2 years of general experience; must include 2 years of experience in an engineering field, or BA/BS in a STEM degree. Must have Security+ Certification or the ability to acquire within 6 months. Must have experience programming in Java and scripting in the Windows and Linux environment. Must have experience troubleshooting code and scripts. Must have experience troubleshooting workstation and server configurations. The ability to quickly adapt to new situations and short deadlines is needed for this role. Must have a strong commitment to a team environment, the capacity to work unsupervised. Candidate can start with a DoD Secret clearance but must acquire DoD Top Secret clearance upon selection and acceptance. Desired Requirements: Experience with ballistic missile defense operations and interconnectivity, theater, midcourse, and terminal missile defense, and war gaming laboratories and interfaces. Knowledge of strategic and theater missile defense weapon systems, sensor systems, tactical communications, and C2BMC Environments. Experience with IP networking concepts and troubleshooting. Familiarity with tactical message formats. Knowledge of DoD communications systems, and networks/protocols. Knowledge of test planning and test conduct within laboratory environment.
