Job Description: The Wellness and Fitness Specialist serves as a coordinator and educator for wellness and fitness classes and services for our clients. The Wellness and Fitness Specialist is responsible for the creation, implementation, and evaluation of the action plan for wellness classes and services, and for keeping wellness in front of our clients continuously.
Job Requirements: Must have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a health science related field. Must have experience with individuals in early stages of substance use recovery. Must have current CPR/First Aid certification. Certifications preferred include: Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES), Certified Wellness Coach (CWC), and Registered Dietitian (RD). Must have previous personal training experience; certification in personal training preferred. Must have excellent communication skills with solid writing abilities, and excellent demonstrated people skills. Must have high degree of self-initiation, organizational skills, and problem-solving. Must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in leading a comprehensive wellness effort with emphasis in program development, motivational experience, group class instruction, risk management programming, and fitness center programming. Must have the ability to consult with clients from diverse backgrounds. Has credibility, a strong classroom presence, and excellent public speaking and facilitating skills. Must possess proficiency with MS Office applications. Must have a strong work ethic with commitment to high energy performance, quality and service excellence.
