Ferring US is embarking on the creation of a separate Oncology Division, based in Parsippany. The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) team will play a key role supporting the introduction of Ferring US Oncology and its product to the scientific community and healthcare providers. The team will report to the Senior Director of Medical Affairs, Oncology.


  • Establish strong personal relationships with thought leaders at academic centers as well in the community to engage in scientific exchange

  • Provide study support from protocol and budget development to submission and completion for Phase IV as well as Investigator Initiated Trials (IITs)

  • Provide continuing field scientific support and training for Marketing, Sales and Market Access team members

  • Keep abreast of medical and scientific developments in bladder cancer, incl. new therapeutic targets/approaches, investigational drugs and progress of their clinical trials, new treatment options, diagnostics, biomarkers, etc.

  • Collect, analyze and report competitive intelligence in a manner compliant with all applicable rules and regulations

  • Identify business development opportunities and refer inquiries to the Oncology leadership and the Business Development team

  • Working with Market Access and Health-Economics/Outcomes Research (HEOR), develop and deliver scientific presentations to guidelines/P&T committees, formulary/pathway decision makers and related stakeholders

  • Assist Medical Affairs as well as the medical communications agency personnel in the development of presentations and publications

  • Actively participate in advisory boards, speaker training events, clinical investigator meetings, regional, national and international meetings as needed

  • Present healthcare professionals and decision makers within healthcare systems with accurate, unbiased, balanced and timely answers to unsolicited requests

  • Document and forward reports of adverse events to appropriate personnel

  • Assist in processing of field request for medical education funding

  • Actively participate in key medical and scientific conferences by staffing medical information booths, attending scientific sessions and providing summary reports


  • Advanced degree (M.D., Pharm.D. or Ph.D.) with a background in oncology required

  • Background in gene therapy a plus

  • Background in bladder cancer a plus

  • Minimum of 5 years' US MSL experience in urology, uro-oncology or oncology

  • Solid understanding of today's US Oncology environment (Medical, Clinical, Regulatory, Health-Economic/Outcomes Research, Health Policy)

  • Working knowledge of clinical trials design, execution and monitoring

  • High emotional intelligence, comfortable and effective in interacting with executive-level internal and external stakeholders, incl. global top-tier KOLs

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, incl. in a teaching capacity

  • Self-starter with organizational savvy, able to work with minimal direction and comfortable with ambiguity

  • Field based position, with up to 75% travel, mostly domestic
