Job Description: Prevents, suppresses and extinguishes fires. Protects life and property for citizens of Springfield, Fire Protection Districts, Mutual Aid Districts and assigned Districts. Mitigates hazardous materials, provides emergency medical service, assists in vehicle and other rescue areas, and engages in ongoing training programs. Job Requirements: U.S. Citizen 21-34 years of age (Exemptions: 65 ILCS 5/10-1-7.1(c) High school graduate/GED equivalent No felonies or certain misdemeanors Ability to successfully pass the Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT) including ladder climb No offensive and/or inappropriate visible tattoos Vision correctable to 20/40 with no monochromatic color blindness
