Role Overview:

The Director, Data and Insights, creates and delivers data solutions that help our healthcare clients address their marketing communications needs. This includes partnering with our internal Health Data, Marketing Analytics, Research, Planning, New Business, and Account teams, as well as our external health data partners who provide data directly to us and/or indirectly to us via our clients.

As a senior member of the Data and Analytics community, the Director is a team leader who has a deep knowledge of available health data, the analysis that can be applied, the insights it can provide, and the value it can create through smarter strategies, deeper customer understanding, and dynamic program optimization.

What you'll accomplish:

  • Develop and manage an enterprise wide Data and Marketing Analytics strategy

  • Guide efforts across the Health Data, Research, and Marketing Analytics groups in identifying the right data to be sourced to address client business issues, and consequently educate the teams to understand the differences between various datasets, and can communicate successfully with clients

  • Identify required data and data capture mechanisms (eg registration forms, transactional data, 3rd party data, website traffic data, online survey data, etc.)

  • Source data from clients that aren't fully utilizing their datasets which can be used to create new value in ongoing marketing programs; orchestrate appropriate access via Third Party Agreements.

  • Oversee data analysis and interpretation of results within the right business context, with detailed findings and implications presented to key stakeholders at all levels

  • Design and lead effective presentations and communicate business value derived from each engagement to senior clients.

  • Scope technical requirements for delivering data strategies and plans

  • Manage business requirements and identifies measures, approaches and methodologies for measuring success against objectives.

  • Establish measurement infrastructure for data capture, analysis, and statistics

  • Maintain a functional expertise in non-personal promotions (NPP), multi-channel marketing, analytical tools, techniques, and other similar requirements.

Required skills:

  • Passionate about the future of health data, marketing analytics, non-personal promotion, general advertising, and a desire to help shape it

  • Has deep knowledge of the healthcare industry and continuously follows trends

  • Able to effectively communicate and inspire others to innovate and deliver

  • High integrity and strong work ethic

  • Strong advanced analytics and modeling skills, preferably in the marketing field

  • Direct experience or advanced education in business or quantitative analysis including both offline and digital businesses

Technical proficiency

  • Experience working with a variety of health data, e.g. Rx, claims, EHR, ICD/CPT, pt-reported outcomes, and non-health data, e.g. digital engagement, consumer lifestyle and media consumption

  • Experience with digital analytics tools such as Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics, and GTM

  • Proficient in Excel and Microsoft Office products

  • Working knowledge of leading marketing analytics software tools such as R, SAS, SPSS, or programming languages such as Visual Basic or SQL

  • Experience with visualization tool such as Tableau, a plus

  • Keen ability to visualize data through graphing/ charting/ information display skills (strong Power Point skills are essential)


  • Bachelor's Degree in Quantitative field such as Economics, Statistics, Analytics, Finance, Mathematics, or Business

  • Master's Degree or PhD a plus

Years of experience

  • 7-9+ years of experience in healthcare data consulting, marketing analysis, quantitative consulting, database marketing and/or research within the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry
