Dairy Farm Supervisor (NOC 8252)

Wage Rate: $13.65 to $16.00 / hourly

Experience: At least 2 years of farm experience.

Type of Farm Operations: Dairy Farm

Job Duties:
•Co-ordinate, assign and supervise the work of general farm workers
•Supervise and oversee breeding and other livestock-related programs
•Supervise, monitor and enforce procedures to maintain animal health and welfare
•Supervise maintenance of infrastructure, equipment, and supplies
•Develop work schedules and establish procedures
•Ensure farm safety, food safety and security and bio-security procedures are followed
•Maintain quality control and production records
•May perform general farm duties.
•Formulate feeding programs
•Implement pasture or pen breeding programs
•Recognize and treat certain livestock health problems
•Maintain livestock performance records
•Select livestock for sale
•Operate and maintain storage and silage system, feeding and watering system, milking systems and manure handling or storage system;

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, Repetitive tasks, Handling heavy loads, Physically demanding, Attention to detail, Hand-eye co-ordination, Ability to distinguish between colours, Standing for extended periods, Walking, Bending, crouching, kneeling.

Work Site Environment: Outdoors, Noisy, Odours, Dusty
