Job Description:

As an Operations Manager, Venue Sourcing Solutions, you will lead and direct a team of Sourcing Specialists aligned to strategically source, contract, and drive overall savings and risk mitigation for key accounts. You will ensure service excellence, customer satisfaction, productivity, and efficiency. Additionally, you will provide leadership and direction necessary to engage and develop staff. You partner with the Director, Sourcing and Contracting as well as key account Program Management to drive profitability, encourage innovation, and establish best practices within our venue sourcing and contracting service offering both for established clients as well as new implementations.

1. Directs day to day operations for our venue sourcing and contracting solutions team members on key accounts to ensure profitability and quality.

2. Ensure successful achievement of team SLAs and KPIs

3. Manages day to day workload of supported team members, taking actions to ensure availability and development of talent needed to meet current and future needs for key accounts while minimizing overhead.

4. Collaborates with Program Management to optimize sourcing and contracting processes, implement improved strategies, and drive additional revenue opportunities

5. Sets clear and measurable performance expectations which ensure superior service delivery by the team.

6. Implements necessary training and staff development based on CWT and client service standards. This includes but is not limited to destination knowledge development, negotiation strategies, and contracting trends.

7. Creates a culture of passion around delivering the ultimate customer experience through engagement and empowerment.

8. Maintains communication with client and CWT M&E management to ensure that they are aware of client's progress, key changes, and gaps in performance with time enough to develop strategies to address these issues.

9. Develops and ensures the ongoing maintenance of the client's operations manual to include common processes and procedures as well as client's brand standards and requirements to ensure consistencies.
Makes recommendations to improve the profitability of the operation.

10. Maintains consistent communication necessary to drive strategic planning, business resiliency and client decision-making.

11. Ensures that quality processes and tools are incorporated into all daily activities to drive process efficiencies and standardization.


-College diploma or degree in related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.


-5-10 years of Meeting/Event Management experience required.

-Significant M&E sourcing and contracting experience required.

-Proven leadership and minimum 3 years managing a staff.

-Experience supporting a sizable Strategic Meetings Management Program for a Fortune 100 a plus.

License or Certification

-CMP, SMMC, CMM designation an asset.

-Project Management designation/training an asset.


-Strong knowledge in M&E sourcing, contracting and negotiation strategies.

-Superior understanding of Cvent, Lanyon or equivalent eRFP tools.


-Strong communications skills both verbal and written. -Detail oriented. Strong Financial Acumen.


-High sense of urgency to meet deadlines and contract obligations.

-Ability to remain calm and composed under stressful situation.

-Act as a role model to create an agile, change-adept department.
