  • Provides technical & product development strategy and leadership. Translating strategic business, product and technical plans into platforms and re-usable patterns in software development.

  • Oversees several teams of developers building core workflows and shared business services

  • Work closely with product management teams for overall product quality, delivery commitments, and reporting.

  • Provide hands-on technical direction and guidance in an innovative fast-paced environment. The ideal person for this role is someone who wants (and enjoys) to be hands-on coding and leading a team to increase their impact and speed on product delivery. You will lead design & implementation of software engineering projects, including task planning, code reviews, & execution. This while driving timely delivery of software during all stages of production.

  • Ability to see the big picture while staying focused on short-term company objectives. This means translating business goals into appropriate technical solutions.

  • Ability to prioritize well, communicate clearly and understand how to drive a high level of focus and excellence with a strong, talented, opinionated team

  • Works to resolve technical issues that arise in during software development.

  • Work with other development leaders to understand, promote and adhere to Enterprise wide technology standards and requirements.

  • Ability to recruit, manage and lead a world class engineering team. This includes improving team efficiency while managing long term platform stability and scalability.

  • Own all operational metrics and support.

  • Provide regular updates on progress and outstanding issues

  • Liaise with other P&T areas of the company to define integration strategies






Experience & education:

Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's or higher degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics or Mathematics; OR appropriate combination of education and experience.

10+ years of relevant experience required. At least 7 years' experience as Development Leader. Must have a high level of technical proficiency to understand the pros and cons of various technologies.

Proven, current experience in software architecture and development that includes layered APIs supporting multiple systems.

Experience working with distributed global teams

Proven experience in DevOps and fast paced collaborative environment.

Travel experience and working in GDS environment is highly preferred


Knowledge, skills and abilities (KSAs)

o Proficient in Java / Springboot, NoSQL DBs, Messaging (AMQ/Kafka), Microservices, Containerization(Docker/K8s), Workflow/BPM and AWS

o Willing to work in a team first environment

o Broad technical expertise and transformational vision of migration of core processes from legacy to distributed platforms.

o Adapts to changing conditions to generate effective solutions to problems.

o Ability to discuss, lead and present technical solutions to development teams and executive management.

o Able to work with teams/individuals of all levels of technical expertise, business knowledge and global locations.

o Effective communication skills.

o Ability to handle multiple projects

o Expert knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle, Agile Methodology preferred.

o Advanced knowledge and experience with Cloud / Hybrid Cloud design patterns

o Knowledge of DevOps technologies and processes
