Job Description:

A Business Data Analyst is responsible for the analytical support of mid-size to large meetings & events programs within CWT Meetings & Events. With supervision, the primary focus will be on maintaining operational reporting and developing strategic analytic models that allow for focused efforts on increasing program compliance and reducing costs. This individual will also be responsible for supporting the ongoing development of CWT Meetings & Events Solutions reporting and consulting deliverables as applicable.


1. Utilize web-based reporting systems to pull client-specific data, while identifying recurrent trends, source and cause, in order to provide feedback and suggestions for improvement, to analyze travel and meeting traffic patterns.

2. Anticipate and identify stakeholder needs, prepare program deliverables and reviews incorporating relevant benchmarking information. Perform time tracking as requested by management.

3. Partner with program management, operations, and leadership as applicable to build upon current operations reporting and efficiency metrics.

4. Proactively escalate potential client, program, or delivery issues for timely resolution to management.

5. Drive and support the development of data analysis standards and methodologies and create quality control filters to support program optimization.

6. Participate and contribute to quarterly industry updates and marketplace analysis.

7. Increase Meeting and Events industry knowledge by attending internal training, external events, supplier presentations, and team meetings.

8. Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, v-look ups, linking cells/workbooks is required to develop client reporting, interactive dashboards and scorecards.

9. Manage education efforts and conduct on-going opportunity assessments to drive compliance, data quality, and cost savings for meetings & events programs.

10. With support of Senior Data Consultants and management identify upselling opportunities and action.

11. Perform other duties as assigned which may include various special projects and mentoring junior staff.



-Bachelor's Degree in related field*

-Minimum 3 years of related experience. Meetings & Events and/or travel industry experience preferred.

-Strong computer aptitude on a variety of Microsoft Office products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Access).

-Knowledge of Project Management procedures. Meetings & Events and/or travel industry knowledge preferred.

-Strong oral/written communication skills to communicate internally & externally. -Strong critical thinking skills. Strong attention to detail.

-Strong customer service skills.

-Strong organizational and planning skills that can coordinate multiple resources.

-Ability to remain calm in stressful situations.

-Ability to set priorities and multitask in a fast-paced, multi-project environment

-Ability to work well as a team player.

-Ability to process financial information.
