Job Description:

Project (or Opportunity) Position Overview: Support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense Test Directorate (ABT). Provide test engineering and technical analysis support during the planning, assessment, and execution of Ground Tests and Pre-Mission Hardware in the Loop Tests for the Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS) Test Program.


Lead key portions of planning and execution activities for Aegis BMD participation in MDA BMDS Ground Test events

Provide technical and managerial support requiring knowledge of systems
engineering, weapons system testing, and interoperability of BMDS systems

Coordinate and collaborate with AB and MDA Engineers to develop detailed test objectives and plans, analysis of requirements and performance, definition of test scenarios and associated CONOPS

Support AB Leadership at Ground Test Executive Level meetings

Perform technical /test planning & execution, BMDS integration & testing, coordination and support for M&S verification and validation, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for the BMDS / Aegis BMD systems

Serve as Aegis BMD Program Office representative at Ground Test meetings

Travel to Huntsville, Colorado Springs, Pt Loma, Moorestown labs etc. as required

Participate in BMDS Test Event planning conferences and working groups


Experience Requirements:

  • 7+ years' experience desired; U.S. Navy background a plus

  • Bachelor's Degree Required (Math, Engineering, or Science degree a plus)

  • Familiarity with BMDS HWIL testing desired

- Test Planning and Design

- Scenario / Test Case Design

- System Integration / System Test

  • Familiarity with the MDA and Aegis BMD organizational roles and responsibilities desired

  • Experience working with DoD and the Navy a plus

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently from high-level guidance

  • Ability to lead portions of Ground Test activities, ability to communicate effectively and clearly and present technical approaches to achieving ground test objectives and ground test findings to Aegis leadership

  • Willing and able to perform routine program office tasking including scheduling of CVTCs and telecons, providing weekly status to Navy and Civilian chain of command, writing minutes, and tracking issues and action items

  • Must be pro-active, self-motivated, not afraid to ask questions and provide Aegis BMD Program Office position to a wide technical and managerial audience, and be willing take on projects not necessarily in candidate's current skill set

  • Can easily apply working knowledge of MS Office applications to system engineering tasks and produce timely and effective results

  • Proof of US citizenship is required
