Job Description:
Wikwemikong Nursing Home - Long Term Care Facility
Overview
Languages: English /Ojibway
Education: Personal Support Worker Certificate- Nursing College Student/ diploma
Experience: One year long term care experience with POC charting.
On site: Work must be completed at the physical location. There is no option to work remotely.
Work setting: Remote location. Willing to relocate
Nursing home/home for the aged
Responsibilities/Tasks
-Accompany patients on outdoor recreational activities
-Assist with cleaning, sterilizing, setting up and assembling of medical equipment
-Perform other duties related to patient care and comfort
-Perform other duties related to personal care
-Supply and empty bed pans
-Serve meal trays and feed patients
-Weigh, lift, turn and position patients
-Make beds and maintain patients’ rooms
-Bathe, dress and groom patients
-Transport patients in wheelchair or stretcher
-Answer call signals to determine patients’ needs
-Collect specimens
-Administer first aid in emergency situations
Credentials: Personal Support Worker Certificate, Nursing licences, memberships, and courses
Experience and specialization in geriatrics
Area of work experience: Long Term Care settings.
