At this time, Gadiwood is looking for a building cleaning supervisor to work at their location 55 Mutual Street in Toronto, Ontario. A building cleaning supervisor at Gadiwood will oversee and coordinate the activities of cleaning staffs to ensure that the property is maintained to a standard of cleanliness and hygiene. As this property is home to many vulnerable communities, we are looking for someone who is able to work kindly and compassionately with the residents, and ensure their home is in good shape. A building cleaning supervisor will play a crucial role in ensuring a safe and clean environment for our residents, contributing to their overall well-being and comfort.
Responsibilities of a building cleaning supervisor for Gadiwood at 55 Mutual Street will include, but not be limited, to the following:
•Oversee and organize the tasks of light-duty, industrial, or specialized cleaners and janitors
•Conduct inspections of the sites or facilities to verify adherence to safety and cleanliness standards
•Suggest or arrange for extra services needed, such as painting, repairs, renovations, or replacement of furniture/equipment
•Recruit and train cleaning staff
•Develop work schedules for cleaning staff and coordinate activities with other departments as necessary
•Create budgets, estimate expenses, and maintain financial records
•Accept payments for specialized cleaning tasks if necessary and provided authorization by manager to do so
•Occasionally carry out specific cleaning duties
We are looking for someone with a wealth of experience in cleaning and maintenance, and who also has the ability to demonstrate compassion for individuals who are navigating precarious socio-economic challenges. The successful candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications:
•3 years of experience in cleaning facilities, buildings, or public spaces
•2 years of working in supervising, preferably within the realm of affordable housing
•Completion of secondary school.
This is a full-time position with a fixed hourly salary of $34.07, based on a 35-hour work week. Benefits include dental care, 10 days of paid vacation, and five paid personal days.
