Job Description:
The Louisiana Department of Health (LDH), Office of Public Health (OPH), is seeking an Immunization Program Nurse Consultant to provide statewide clinical leadership for the Immunization Program (IZ). This role serves as the primary advisor on immunization best practices, supports policy development, coordinates provider training, and represents the program with partners and stakeholders.
Responsibilities
Serve as the IZ clinical contact for vaccine-related inquiries.
Advise leadership on policies, procedures, and best practices.
Develop and deliver provider and community trainings/webinars.
Monitor vaccine trends and support outbreak response.
Contribute to grant writing, reporting, and special projects.
Review and update immunization manuals and guidance.
Support public health communications on vaccines.
Oversee Yellow Fever Vaccination Centers.
Liaise with vaccine manufacturers and partner agencies.
Job Requirements:
Current Louisiana RN license.
MSN or MPH degree.
5+ years of nursing experience.
Strong communication, organizational, and computer skills.
Salary commensurate with experience.
