Job Position: Carpenter (NOC 72310)
Salary: $27.00- $30.00 per hour for 40 hours/week
Location: 1957 Capistrano Drive, Kelowna, BC V1V 2N1

Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: 3 years to less than 5 years
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities:
Hand-eye co-ordination, Repetitive tasks, Bending, crouching, kneeling, physically demanding, Standing for extended periods.
Work Location Information: Various locations
Work Site Environment: Noisy, Dusty
Personal Suitability: Dependability, Judgement, Client focus, Team player, Reliability
Additional Skills: Work at heights, on scaffolding or swing stages
Weight Handling: Up to 13.5 kg (30 lbs)

Carpenter Specific Skills:
• Read blueprints, drawings, and sketches to fully grasp requirements.
• Take measurements and calculate the size and amount of material needed.
• Cut, shape and smooth lumber and other material (e.g. fiberglass) according to measurements.
• Build window frames, doors, staircases, and frame buildings by using raw materials or pre-constructed items.
• Fit and install trim items, such as doors, stairs, moulding and hardware.
• Lay out flooring, roofing or drywall ensuring they are leveled and compatible.
• Inspect places and conduct repairs or maintenance of tools.
• Build scaffolding and other construction structures.
