Job Description: Position: Transportation Logistics Supervisor Location: 2441 United Blvd, Coquitlam, BC V3K 6A8 Term of Employment: Full-time / 2 years contract Hourly wage: $37/hr Working hours: Monday to Friday, 30 hours per week Benefits: Dental care, extended medical insurance, company events and on-site parking Vacation: 2 weeks per calendar year
Job Requirements: Responsibilities: Supervise logistics coordinators and clerks responsible for domestic and cross-border (Canada/US) shipments, covering truckload, LTL, and intermodal movements Ensure adherence to Rolls-Rights policies, procedures and cross-border regulatory standards Schedule and review carriers, negotiate rates, and secure equipment (e.g., dry vans, reefers) to meet customer requirements Monitor logistics operations, ensuring real-time tracking and resolving delays or disruptions proactively Resolve logistics issues and customer complaints serving as the primary point of contact for key clients, providing updates Build and maintain relationships with carriers, brokers, and co-loaders to expand Rolls-Rights network Train logistics clerks on using logistics software (e.g., TruckRight, TruckRight 3PL) to track shipments and generate performance reports Actively identify cost-saving opportunities May perform coordinator duties when required, including quoting freight rates, providing shipping solutions, and tracking and reporting OS&D with carriers and warehouses Working on the special projects assigned by management (Warehouse space optimization/ On board new customs)
Required Skills: Completion of a post-secondary education in Logistics, Transportations, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field 3+ years of experience in transportation logistics, freight forwarding, or supply chain coordination Proven experience in supply chain operations/customer service, preferably within the trucking or 3PL industry Familiarity with transportation management systems (TMS) and other logistics software Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with carriers, drivers, and customers Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment Experience in supervision/management and strong leadership is a valuable asset Knowledge of transportation regulations and safety standards Detail-oriented and highly organized with a focus on accuracy Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
