Job Description:

As our HR Generalist & Recruiter, you will own the full recruitment lifecycle—from identifying staffing needs to onboarding top talent. You’ll collaborate with leaders across the organization, attend career events, creatively source candidates, and ensure every new hire feels welcomed, equipped, and aligned with our mission. You’ll also play a vital role in talent retention, helping Valley Christian thrive by building teams that reflect our values and vision. In this role, you will also support the Human Resources department with various responsibilities and projects, ensuring smooth operations and compliance.


Job Requirements:
Support the HR Department with various tasks: onboarding, employee changes, offboarding, and other projects
Lead all recruiting efforts across departments and campuses
Attend job events (local & a few out of state) and community events to attract exceptional talent
Write compelling job postings and advertise on multiple platforms
Maintain a robust talent pipeline aligned with current and future needs
Conduct preliminary interviews and guide hiring managers in final selections
Deliver engaging offer letters and oversee smooth, mission-centered onboarding
Facilitate new hire orientations and annual staff orientation events
Ensure compliance through background checks and credential verifications
Oversee the issuance of teaching contracts and collaborate with payroll on compensation
Drive employee engagement through creative hiring and retention strategies
Stay current on HR laws, best practices, and professional development opportunities
Represent Valley Christian Schools and Christian education with passion, excellence, and a heart for ministry
Awareness of labor and employment laws and hiring practices, and is willing to reference, research, and attend continuing education in HR matters
Adheres to Valley Christian School policies, procedures/processes, codes, and The Valley Way
Maintains confidentiality of HR matters and high-level company information
Performs other related assigned duties
Must have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ that is a consistent testimony among others

Must have and maintain a valid Level One IVP fingerprint card to work in a school environment
Experience in full-cycle recruiting (1+ year required)
Experience working in Human Resources
Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
Strong communication skills, written and verbal. Expertise in creating professional documentation
Tech-savvy (Microsoft Suite, Zoom, Teams, social media recruiting)
High-level discretion, professionalism, and organizational savvy
Enthusiasm for workplace diversity and a heart for Christian education
Demonstrated ability to multitask and handle time-sensitive tasks during our high-volume months (spring & summer)
Demonstrate the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, analytical and critical thinking skills, professionalism, and diplomacy
Demonstrated ability to exercise initiative and sound judgment and to react with discretion under varying conditions
Must be able to work a flexible schedule when needed. Some evenings may be required for school & recruiting events
